APCO WRC January Update 2

More vendors, more event details, and registration updates. All these can all be found on the conference website at APCOWRC2015.org. Read below to see what news we have for the Evening on the Rails dinner too.

DeadlineExtendedBiggest news of the day, the discount to register for the conference has been extended another month. Register before February 27 for a discount of $50 off your full conference pass. The exhibit hall only passes remain free, but save time and register now so that you can spend more time in the hall, and not in line registering to walk the hall.

Hyatt_LogoAlong with the discounted registration date being extended we also want to remind you about the hotel accommodations. The Hyatt Regency Hotel has rooms which are across the street from the event for only $155 per night. Government attendees can get an even larger discount of only $107 per night. Hurry though, rooms are going fast and there are only so many rooms available.

Training

We want to highlight three more training sessions this week that will be available at the conference. In addition to these three sessions, look for information on discounted APCO pre-conference courses, POST certified courses, and more.

9-1-1 Dispatch Operations

Ahh in the News: Nobody likes to be in the news. This will give a high level overview of recent media incidents involving dispatchers and dispatch centers, and help dispatchers and dispatch managers look at how we can improve our operations and stay OUT of the news.

Technology

The 106 and You: The 106 is intimidating, but it is important that you know what the 106 is. This course will take the mystery out of the form and try to help Operations understand the form a little better.

Management

Evaluation versus Forklift: Government Budgets are just now recovering from the housing crash. However, the days of spontaneous spending are over. As we consider upgrading our software Open standards provide a way to evolve emergency services networks instead of forklifting upgrades as new technologies emerge. Including voice, text and video. Learn how open standards can provide a foundation for providing next generation 9-1-1 systems.

What to do when not in training?
