Bylaws and Constitution Amendment

During the September membership meeting in Santa Cruz, President Randy Hagar presented the 4th amendment to the Chapter Bylaws and Constitution this year.

This amendment modifies the bylaws to create one additional board of director position, bringing the total number of directors to 6, and the total number of voting board members to 15.  It would also update the bylaws to correctly reflect the number of board members needed for a quorum.  Since the addition of a PIO position, and voting privileges given to the Secretary, Treasurer and Commercial Chair, earlier this year, the 2/3 requirement should now be at 10 members., where previously it was only 6.

Also at the meeting, the membership approved a waiving the required 30 days notice after an amendment is presented before voting can happen.  This was done so that voting by membership can happen during the October membership meeting in Sacramento on October 10.  Please take the time to read the text of the amendment here, and be prepared to discuss and vote upon it during the business meeting portion of the October meeting.
