    Hello,

I have just bought a radio as I am going to Annecy and was told I would need one to be guided. I have a Yaesu VX-170, the manual seems to assume I already know everything about radios and have a phd in electronics, I don’t. The biggest confusion of all however is this, I recently passed my UK Pilot exam (IPPI 4) and I remember from his t hat the frequency used in the UK by paraglider pilots is 118.675, with the international distress frequency at 121.5, other frequencies used for sport avaition are 129.9, 130.1 etc etc. from the BHPA Pilot handbook, my radio goes no where near these frequencies and goes from 136 mhz to 174 mhz? Can any one explain??

    Please help

I didn’t find the right solution from the internet.
