As winter comes to a close and spring begins to blossom, I want to write this message to provide some highlights of an amazing year we find ourselves in.
First, October 1st – 3rd we will be co-hosting a California State APCO Conference in Anaheim, CA alongside SoCal APCO. This event will be a great opportunity to see the latest technology in the public safety realm, network with peers throughout the state, attend training courses and POST courses. Next, I would like to remind everyone that we have our awards banquet on May 17th in Sacramento. This is sure to be a night to remember so make sure you mark your calendars and submit your nominations for awards. Nominations close March 29th and you can visit the website for submissions at this link or go to https://www.napco.org/awards/. There is limited space at the venue so make sure you mark your calendar and register early if you are hoping to attend.
Another exciting event happening this year is we are partnering with SoCal APCO and CALNENA again this year to put on the 9-1-1 Goes to Sacramento event April 30th and May 1st. This event is an excellent opportunity to advocate for yourself and your career while actually getting to speak with legislators. There will be more information to come regarding this event, but if you are looking for a way to start advocating for the legislative aspects of this state, this is definitely the event to be at.
Lastly, our next meeting will be at the Butte County Search and Rescue office in Chico on March 14th with Exacom as the sponsor and PG&E giving the keynote presentation. The next meeting after that is on April 11th in Napa with Carbyne as the sponsor and Comba as the keynote presentation.
