State 9-1-1 Office Announces Policy Changes

On June 10th the State 9-1-1 Office announced changes to two sections of the 9-1-1 Manual:  Travel Reimbursements and Training Policies.  In summary, the changes to the Travel Reimbursement Policy are that they will now use the State of California reimbursement rates for mileage and hotel charges.  The full policy can be found at:  http://www.calhr.ca.gov/employees/pages/travel-reimbursements.aspx

Changes to the Training Policy are basically to remove the limitation that funds have to be used for CALNENA activities.  State 9-1-1 will post pre-approved training events, but other training opportunities may be reimbursed with prior approval from the 9-1-1 Office.

The Notices and Resource Guide will be posted on to the State 9-1-1 web-site for future reference:  http://www.caloes.ca.gov/PSC/Pages/Services/911/Home.aspx

A Virtual Town Hall meeting is currently being scheduled the last week in June 2013.  Once the meeting date has been established, a notice will be issued that include the details on how to participate and submit questions prior to the meeting.  This forum will include answering previously submitted and real-time questions received from PSAPs and 9-1-1 County Coordinators regarding the policy changes.
